About the hospice

St Helena Hospice is the specialist palliative care provider in North East and part of Mid Essex. St Helena opened in 1985 and provides medical and nursing care and therapy to adult patients with any diagnosis. We employ a multi-disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, physio and occupational therapists, counsellors, social workers, a chaplain and complementary therapists. Services are provided to patients at home, through two day centres and an inpatient unit. St Helena provides pre and post bereavement support to family members including children.

St Helena has developed an education centre franchised to a local university, which delivers education to Masters Degree level as well as short courses to social and healthcare professionals throughout the Eastern region.
