Corporate - How to get involved

St Helena Hospice; Working with Corporate Partners

Today the relationship between companies and charities is closer than ever before. St Helena Hospice always strives to build lasting relationships with corporate charity partners, ensuring they are involved, updated, informed, advised and supported in everything they do.

We do not see the relationship as one sided and believe that working with the Hospice can bring genuine and lasting benefits to a company; from public perception to employee motivation.

There are a whole host of ways for companies to get involved in supporting the Hospice but many people aren’t aware of just how easy it can be.

Charity of the year:
Having a Charity of the Year will bring a positive impact to your company by promoting team spirit and boosting staff morale, bringing your employees together in an organised, coordinated way. We have an experienced, committed team on hand to support you at every step and make the most out of the partnership.

Sponsorship: Sponsor one of our events to forge a relationship between your brand and ours. By sponsoring us, you will be demonstrating your company values and commitment to your customers on an issue that affects their lives every day.

Payroll giving: Payroll Giving is a simple and tax efficient scheme that allows your employees to donate regularly to St Helena Hospice directly from their salary. Each pay day, a specified donation is taken directly out of any participating employees' gross salary – after National Insurance has been deducted but before tax. The end result is that it costs your employees up to 40% less to make their donations. For example, if your employee pledges £5, the actual cost to them will be £3 (based on a higher rate tax payer). A Payroll Giving Agency will handle the transfer of all these donations for you, and pay them directly to St Helena Hospice.

Donations: Make a difference this year. Your charity donation will help give more families the chance to be together longer in a homely environment.

Matched Giving: How can you inspire your employees to give more? Why, by saying you’ll match whatever they raise! Matched giving by companies boosts the morale of employee fundraisers as it shows them you are supporting what they do.

Volunteering:
Encourage your employees to volunteer for St Helena Hospice. We currently have over 900 volunteers from Gardeners, Visitors, Cashiers, Artists, Hairdressers ….. Their involvement would be very much appreciated in any area they would like to help.

Gifts in kind: Cash donations are not the only way companies and individuals can help us. Of equal importance are gifts in kind, whether it be second hand items,  professional advice or discounted services.

Fundraising: We enjoy building partnerships that help motivate employees and assist in staff development and team building. Our expert team are committed to working with our partners to build solutions, generate ideas and make things happen, whatever your business. Our approach is to make supporting us easy – whether your organisation has done something like this before or not. We can provide you with plenty of fundraising ideas to use throughout the year and will tailor them to your business environment.

Events: Entering a team in one of our existing events is easy, fun and there's bound to be one near you. St Helena Hospice events range from coffee mornings through to team building activities so there really is something for everybody.

Recycling:
Instead of throwing away unwanted items such as mobile phones or ink cartridges, why not donate them to St Helena Hospice so we may either utilise the items or sell them to support the Hospice.
