Making a gift in your will
It is so important to write a Will to ensure that all the people and things you care about are looked after and that your money and property will be used as you would wish.
Whilst we can recommend that everyone should write a Will we can only hope that people include St Helena Hospice as a beneficiary. For many years kind people have supported the work of the Hospice by leaving a legacy in their Will and this pays for the care of almost one in four of our patients.
Here are some ways in which you might help St Helena Hospice in your Will:
A share of your estate
When all your other commitments are dealt with, part of what remains of your estate can be used to benefit St Helena Hospice. This has the advantage (for us) of being inflation proof.
A specified gift of money
Either a fixed sum or a fixed percentage of the residue (what's left after all other commitments are met). You could help to preserve the value of such a gift by linking it to a cost of living index.
Property or other items of value
Houses, stocks & shares, furniture, jewellery have all been left to St Helena Hospice over the years.
The Wills expert at your Solicitor can explain all you need to know about writing a Will and the ways in which you can help St Helena Hospice. They can help you to come to an arrangement which satisfies your commitments to family and friends which might also benefit the Hospice.
