We realise asking people to sponsor you can sometimes seem quite daunting but it really doesn’t have to be!

A little goes a long way…



If you can get 10 people to sponsor you £5 each you will have raised £50
BUT
If you can get 10 people to sponsor you £10 each you will have raised an AMAZING £100!

Remember... 

  • Most people are happy to sponsor someone they know, so do not be embarrassed to ask for their support
  • Make a list of everyone you know i.e. family, friends, work colleagues, members of clubs etc.Send your sponsorship form to them all and you will be amazed at how much you are sponsored 
  • Collect as much sponsorship money before an event as possible, if not collect as soon as possible after the event 
  • Let people know you are raising money for St Helena Hospice, a really important and worthwhile charity. 

Online sponsorship

In addition to paper sponsorship forms we would also recommend setting up an online sponsorship page on www.justgiving.com It is quick and simple and there is no cost to set it up…you can even individualise the page with your photo and a bit of information about why you are taking part or organising an event!

  • Send your sponsorship form to all your contacts in one easy email (Remember to send it to all your friends on Facebook and Myspace)
  • Save time and hassle in having to ask people for their sponsorship money 
  • Justgiving will automatically claim the gift aid for every donation made by a UK taxpayer, which means you will raise even more money.





To set up your personal page just follow these simple instructions:

1/ Go to http://www.justgiving.com/sthelena/raisemoney/ and select ‘Create your page’
2/ Add your personal information/photo/reason for taking part etc
3/ Email your page to everyone you know 

Justgiving does the rest of the work for you! All money is debited from your sponsors as soon as they fill in the form and the money is then transferred to St Helena Hospice automatically.


Gift Aid

Gift Aid can make your sponsorship money worth more. For every pound you raise in sponsorship we can claim an extra 25 pence from the H M Revenue and Customs if your sponsorship form is filled in fully. Please make sure that you ask each of your sponsors to fill in their FULL Home address as without it we can't claim the gift aid.
