Facilities hire

The conference centre based at St Helena Hospice is located in a self-contained, purpose built facility to meet the needs of all types of conferences and meetings.

Rooms are available to hire during the day, Monday to Friday, and our dedicated conference and events team will always be on hand to welcome and look after your delegates and help you with every aspect of the event.

The conference facilities venue offers a range of rooms that have been designed with flexibility and comfort in mind. Most rooms have air conditioning and plenty of natural daylight, creating the perfect environment for meetings and teaching alike. Conference rooms are available to hire separately or the full venue can be hired for exclusive use, if necessary.

Our Conference Rooms

The Beeches is the largest conference space available for hire, designed to accommodate 70 delegates in theatre style. The room has views that overlook our beautiful gardens, and the space can be divided into two rooms if required.

Layouts of the conference rooms can be seen in the following capacity chart but additional layouts can be easily arranged to create the perfect meeting space to suit your requirements.

The conference centre also benefits from disabled access to all of the rooms. We also have an area which can be utilised for refreshment breaks.

Audio Visual Equipment

A full range of audio visual equipment can be provided on request, with technical assistance and support available throughout your event. Flip charts and wall mounted track systems are provided within all meeting rooms.

Video conferencing is available in our Chestnut room, enabling you to hold small meetings or interviews.

Conference Refreshments

The catering team at St Helena Hospice provides a professional service, delivering high quality, locally sourced and freshly prepared food, to ensure your conference or meeting is a success.

We can tailor catering packages to you and your delegates’ needs, whether you require a cold finger buffet, hot selections, canapés or simply tea and coffee. We can also provide tempting homemade cakes and scones and supply soft drinks and wine if required.

All of our menus have delicious vegetarian options and our team are experienced at catering for a wide range of dietary requirements.

We will take care of everything for you, offering you flexibility of menu, a professional service and high quality delicious food.

Conference Centre Location

The St Helena Hospice conference centre benefits from its own separate entrance and parking facilities. It is easily accessible from the A12 and only a 10 minute taxi drive from Colchester town centre and train station with good bus transportation links too.
