St Helena has been given the wonderful gift of a dolls’ house made by local supporters, Betty and Ray Halls, who have made many specialist dolls’ houses and passed on their skills to others over many years.
St Helena’s dolls house is a model of the Hotel du Lac, based on the Booker prize winning novel by Anita Brookner. Each room is beautifully furnished and there are a number of characters from the book seen about their lives in the house. There is a rowing boat ready for trips on the lake.
The house will be sold by the hospice to raise money to pay for the care and comfort of people with life-limiting illness and their families in North East Essex.
