‘Colder Than Here’ by Laura Wade performed by Colchester Theatre Group   

The Colchester Theatre Group will be holding an extra date for the play they are currently rehearsing called ‘Colder Than Here’ by Laura Wade. The play was originally being performed at The Headgate Theatre in Colchester from 8th July to the 10th July but they have now kindly offered to also run a ‘preview night’ on Wednesday 7th July where all donations will come to St Helena Hospice.

‘Colder Than Here’ is a well written, meaningful dialogue that broaches not only the subject of a family coming to terms with death, but also the practical arrangements that are often, through necessity, largely unplanned.   

Lorraine Dunt who is directing the play said: “The play isn’t all dark and foreboding. Although we’ve found this an emotional play it has got its humorous moments so don’t think of this as a tragedy, more as a life experience”.

The Theatre group will also be placing donation boxes in the Headgate bar during the full run of the show to help raise as much money for the Hospice as possible.   

The cast of ‘Colder Than Here’ comprises Helen Bridge, Gary Huggins, Chloe Spencer-Campbell and Rhiannon Arnold.
