Midnight Walk 2017
Start and finish Weston Homes Community Stadium, United Way, Colchester CO4 5UP | Saturday 27 May 2017 21:30 - 02:00
Calling all Disco Divas – get ready for Saturday night fever!
Follow the call of the disco ball and join hundreds of women on an incredible night time stroll at our 9th annual Midnight Walk.
Many of our marvellous ladies walk 3 miles or 7.5 miles in memory of a loved one or because the hospice has supported them personally, while others take part for a fun girls' night out and to raise money for their local hospice.
Walk on your own, with your family and friends, with your exercise class, with your work colleagues, the choice is yours… and there will be plenty of new friends to be made on route!
What to wear?
The theme is Disco Diva, so anything goes! Why not get in the groove by walking with us in your finest funky flares, don your disco dancing dress, be inspired by the disco ball or buy one of our terrific event t-shirts? Comfy shoes or trainers are a must though!
Choose the 3 mile or 7.5 mile walk on pavements around the local area, both routes starting and finishing at Weston Homes Community Stadium in Colchester.
Along the route there will be an opportunity for those walking in memory of a loved one to have a quiet moment to attach a personal message on a special tree stationed at Colchester Rugby Club.
Why take part?
The hospice largely relies on the support of our wonderful community who fundraise for us and who take part our events, in order to meet the £8.7 million we need each year to run our services. By taking part in Midnight Walk and raising sponsorship money, you will help us to help local people with an incurable illness to live well and die with dignity and choice.
Julie will be walking with us for the second time at this year’s Midnight Walk. She was diagnosed in December 2013 with advanced breast cancer and secondaries in her spine and ribs, and this year she is determined to walk 7.5 miles with us. Read
The buzzing atmosphere and feeling of solidarity among the ladies is always wonderful – register to join us to experience it for yourself!
