Therapies and Wellbeing
The St Helena Hospice Therapies and Wellbeing service operates out of our Joan Tomkins Centre in Colchester and our Tendring Centre in Clacton. The service offers a variety of groups for patients and their families/carers.
There is a mixture of full day respite and reablement groups (where those with specialist needs can be supported in their independence whilst also providing respite support for their families and carers) as well as shorter groups such as friendship support groups, diagnosis-specific support groups and art therapy groups.
The service is delivered by a combination of staff and volunteers such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants, counsellors, complementary therapists, social workers, family support workers, nurses and chaplains.
The Therapies and Wellbeing service can be accessed via a St Helena Hospice keyworker who will work with each patient to decide on the most appropriate hospice care for them. We also accept external referrals from healthcare professionals such as GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals via an external referral form through our SinglePoint service.
