Financial assistance We receive about a third of our costs from the National Heath Service. All the rest of the money we spend has to come from other sources principally from the people of North East Essex.

Since 1979, St Helena Hospice has been wonderfully supported by them with both capital expenditure and running costs. In addition to the many fund raising activities undertaken, legacies have been an important source of support. Although this generous support continues, we are at present spending more than the income we receive. This is due not only to increases in costs, for example, insurance and salaries but also to the development of the services we seek to provide.
