On the road for charity challenge

01 December 2009

A woman will be hoping for no slip-ups as she takes to the roads for a charity dressed as a banana.

On New Year’s Day, Allie Passfield, 47, will be attempting to navigate her way from her Ardleigh home to Avebury, Wiltshire, on a Honda 50cc moped with a top speed of 30mph.

It is likely to take her most of the day to complete the 160-mile journey, which she plans to do dressed as a banana.

She hopes to raise as much money as possible for St Helena Hospice, in Highwoods, where she works as a medical secretary.

She said: “I think it will be fun, and I want to raise as much money as possible for the hospice.”
