05 May 2010

A budding athlete is running in the marathon in memory of his cousin who died of cancer.

Stephen Wyss will be raising money for St. Helena Hospice, which cared for cousin James, 52, from Clacton, before he died last year.

The 26 year old from Holland-on-Sea said,
“I spoke to my aunt and she said the Hospice were just amazing. That’s why I want to run for them. I’m hoping to do it in less than four hours,” he said.
“I finished a 14 mile training run and that felt easy, so hopefully it won’t be too bad. However, I’ve not got long left to put the miles in training.”
It’s the second time he has taken part in the marathon.

The retail manager of Bedford Road, said,
“I raised £3500 before, I’d love to raise that sort of money again.
