Hospice helpers from rotary
20 May 2010
Top Rotary Club officials visited a Colchester hospice to see a room provided in memory of a former member.
David Fowler, UK Rotary Club president, Tony Wilson, president of the Rotary Club of Colchester Centurion, and Rob Alderton, Colchester district secretary, were given a tour around St Helena Hospice.
The room in the inpatient unit was equipped by the club in memory of member Julie Alderton, who was cared for by the hospice.
It is designed especially for the use of younger patients.
The hospice has also bought a flat-screen television, a Wii games console, a music centre, a DVD player and a laptop through funds raised by the Rotary Club.
It also plans to extend broadband throughout the inpatient unit, thanks to the club.
