Night Vision Relay

21 July 2010

St Helena Hospice will be holding their annual Night Vision Relay event on Saturday 18th September 2010 from 10am until 10pm which this year is kindly sponsored by Topnotch Health Club. The event will again take place at the Weston Homes Community Stadium the home of Colchester United and registration is now open for teams to get their places confirmed at the event.

Night Vision Relay is a 12 hour fun-filled team relay event and is designed for people of all ages and abilities. The aim of the relay is for participants to walk, run, jog or stroll around the course, keeping at least one team member on the track at all times. As it’s a twelve hour challenge there is no limit on the number of people per team.  Teams can be made up of friends, family members, colleagues or groups and associations…the more the merrier! This is a sponsored event but there is no minimum amount to raise – every penny counts and will help St Helena Hospice make a difference to someone’s life.

On the day, participants will have the opportunity to acquire a floating lantern. Each lantern can be personalised with a message, a note, a drawing, or a poem to represent someone special. As darkness falls the lanterns will be released.

“Night Vision Relay has become a really popular event and we have seen it grow each year with this year promising to be the biggest and best yet. The atmosphere and the spirit of participants on the day are always fantastic. People take part as a challenge and for fitness and others come along for fun and to walk in memory of a loved one.”

“Topnotch has been involved in the Night Vision Relays for several years now and it gives us great pleasure to sponsor such a well organised event in aid of an extremely worthwhile local charity. The beauty of the event is that anyone can contribute whether they are walking for a period of time or using it to achieve a specific fitness challenge it really doesn’t matter what their level of fitness is.”
