St Helena Hospice celebrates launch of special partnership
Teams of volunteers from St Helena Hospice will be out in force on Saturday July 30 to celebrate the launch of a special partnership with Argos . The team from St Helena Hospice in Colchester which looks after around 1800 number of patients
each year will be out collecting funds on one of Argos’ busiest days of the year, as it launches its biggest ever catalogue.
‘Helping hospices, helping families’ will be the theme for the new partnership which will see the Argos store(s) in the
Colchester area raise funds and awareness that will help St Helena Hospice support the local community over the next two
years.
The partnership will run throughout the UK and the Republic Of Ireland and aims to raise at least £600,000 nationally.
The money will help UK hospices provide vital care to children and adults with cancer and other terminal illnesses, and help
them offer support and advice to patients’ family and friends.
Sharon Baker, Colchester Store Manager of Argos said , “We’re excited about beginning this partnership with St Helena
Hospice as they provide such an essential service which we are proud to be able to support.”
Ella Martin , PR & Events Officer at St Helena Hospice added, “I am thrilled by the news that we are being supported by
Argos and that staff will be helping raise funds for the Hospice. We work with the local community and provide specialist
care not only for our patients; but also to their families. St Helena Hospice costs around £6 per minute to run and the money raised by Argos staff will really make a difference to local people.”
