Swatch Alternative Fashion week is the event for new designers to be discovered. Hard on the heels of New York , Paris and Milan , London 's Alternative Fashion Week brings out the most original and creative collections.
Colchester Institute's fashion students wowed crowds on Wednesday 16 th March at Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London with their original and electric creations inspired by the new logo for St Helena and the theme of ' time' using an assortment of clothes, suits and curtains from St Helena Hospice charity shops.
Mary Radcliffe, from Colchester Institute said: "Through our work with the Hospice we are able to give to a good cause, recycle and stretch students imagination to create fantastic catwalk pieces. Garments are recycled, dyed, distressed, dismantled and reconstructed".
Ella Martin, from St Helena Hospice added, "From start to finish, this project has been amazing to work on. The input from the students has been fantastic and the clothes looked so strong on the catwalk. I felt proud to be associated with the venture. |
