Overview

We exist to provide support for patients requiring palliative care and for their families and friends. This support is designed to enable the individual to live in comfort with the dignity, degree of independence and control of life which is appropriate.

To meet our objectives the hospice provides a range of specialist palliative care services through community and inpatient services working from sites in Colchester and Clacton.

Overview

The interdisciplinary team includes:

specialist doctors and nurses
physiotherapist and occupational therapist
social workers
counsellors
chaplains
complementary therapists
bereavement team.

St. Helena has developed a Grief Support Programme for bereaved families.

St. Helena was founded by the people of North East Essex and is still dependent for a large proportion of its running costs on the generosity of the community.
