Tree of Memories 2017
06 November 2017 - 08 January 2018
Please donate to our Tree of Memories appeal now to help us to help those who need us this Christmas and throughout the rest of the year.
Last Christmas we cared for Linda Wilkinson and Barry, her husband of 43 years. Linda arrived at the Inpatient Unit at Myland Hall shortly before Christmas 2016 and died on New Year’s Eve. Barry remembers:
‘The Inpatient Unit was great at Christmas. We both said how lovely it was – it was one of the nicest Christmases: It’s ridiculous to say! The whole atmosphere was nice and the nurses were always ready to help.
I’m not looking forward to Christmas this year. The worst thing since Linda died is being home alone. I’m getting used to it gradually but Christmas is going to be tricky, I think.’
Like others facing this Christmas alone or who may find it a difficult time without certain loved ones, Barry knows we’re there if he feels he needs us, whether this year, next Christmas or in the years to come.
Without your help, people like Barry wouldn’t be able to access support at such a difficult time. Your support ensures we can still provide a listening ear, or a kind word when people need us.
Please donate today.
Dates for our Tree of Memories services can be found
If like Barry, you'll be thinking about someone special who won't be with you at Christmas, you may like to write a message on a star tag. We invite anyone to write a message whether your loved on has been supported by our hospice or not. Your tag will then be placed on one of our Christmas trees at either Myland Hall or the Tendring Centre and will be displayed from Monday 4th December until Sunday 7th January 2018. You're welcome to view them during this period. If you would like to do so, please click donate below where you'll be invited to leave a short message.
